Description	:	WELLSVILLE - Phyllis M. Taggart, 87, of Wellsville died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born May 24, 1921, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Alvero and Flora (McIntosh) Rice. Phyllis graduated from Wellsville High School in 1940 and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved to bake for her family. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and the Women's Association at the church. Phyllis was preceded in death on May 28, 1992, by her husband, Robert E. Taggart, 87, of Wellsville died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born May 24, 1921, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Alvero and Flora (McIntosh) Rice. Phyllis graduated from Wellsville High School in 1940 and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved to bake for her family. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and the Women's Association at the church. Phyllis was preceded in death on May 28, 1992, by her husband, Robert E. Taggart whom she married May 21, 1941. Survivors include one daughter: Janet Taggart of Wellsville; two sons: Clarence "Pete" Taggart and his wife Ruth of Conroe, Texas, and Robert E. Taggart, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Wellsville. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren as well as her loving pet cat and companion Madison. In addition to her parents and husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Kiley, and eight brothers, Forrest, Kenneth, Walter, Velmond, Cecil, Daniel, Roland and Alvero Rice. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Roberts Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Ballantine of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Highlandtown Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main St. in Wellsville, Ohio.
