He was born in Rockcreek Township on Oct. 12, 1926, a son of Pierce C. and Iva Mae (Holloway) Harnish. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater. Harnish, 80, rural Bluffton died at 10:26 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center. He was a retired farmer and the owner of the Dutch Maid Carwash from 1964 through 1983. He was born in Rockcreek Township on Oct. 12, 1926, a son of Pierce C. and Iva Mae (Holloway) Harnish. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater. He attended Bethel Church. He was married in Bluffton on March 8, 1947 to Carolyn J. Faus, who survives. He is also survived by his sons, Randy (Cindy) Harnish of Bluffton, Ron (LeeAnn) Harnish of Bluffton, and his daughters, Rinda (Howard) Vaughn of Bluffton, and Rosanne (Joe) Farling of Holiday, Fl., his sister-in-law Marceille Harnish of Bluffton, and 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Leroy, Gerald, and Fred Harnish, and his sisters Mabeline (Vickrey) Ryan and Mildred (Corah) Lee. Visitation will be on Sunday from noon until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Monday at Goodwin Memorial Chapel. Services will be on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Goodwin Memorial Chapel with Pastor Pat Harris officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Rock Creek Township. Military graveside rites will be provided by the American Legion Grover Sheets Post 111. Memorials may be made to Bethel Church or Hospice of Northeast Indiana. Obit provided by Dorie
