Description	:	Pierre was born on July 11, 1916 to Norman and Maggie Culbertson Ewing in Poplar, Montana. Pierre lived in Frazer, Montana until he was about 5 years old. Pierre passed from this earth on Sunday, January 30, 2011. He was 94 years old. We were so blessed to have our father with us for all these glorious years. Pierre lived a full rich life. Read More	Pierre was born on July 11, 1916 to Norman and Maggie Culbertson Ewing in Poplar, Montana. Pierre lived in Frazer, Montana until he was about 5 years old. Pierre passed from this earth on Sunday, January 30, 2011. He was 94 years old. We were so blessed to have our father with us for all these glorious years. Pierre lived a full rich life. He lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed being with his family and he was loved by all who knew him. He loved telling stories of his growing-up years. He loved to tell jokes and he loved to tease. He knew how to make us laugh. He was so knowledgeable in the Cheyenne history and cultural. Pierre lost his mother when he was around 5 years old. Shortly after his mother's death Pierre moved to Busby, Montana with his father. As a small child, he was raised by Clay and Jenny Rowland of Muddy Creek. He rode by horseback to the Muddy Creek Grade School every day. After he completed grade school he moved to Pennsylvania where he became an excellent swimmer. He challenged swimming across the Peninsula canal and succeeded. He then went on to attend high school at the Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas. Pierre excelled in boxing and earned the title of Golden Glove while in high school. After high school Pierre worked for various cattle companies then he met and married the love of his life. Pierre and Mary Harris were married on December 29, 1939. He was drafted into the Army and received his honorable discharge in 1945. Pierre and Mary made their home on Muddy Creek, where he enjoyed farming and ranching with his children for many years. Pierre enjoyed hunting in his early years, going to rodeos, watching boxing, playing cards, and he loved playing dice with his family and those who would challenge him. He enjoyed the many celebrations, birthdays, family get-to-gathers and most of all being with his family and grandchildren that he loved. Pierre was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Harris Ewing, his grandson, Shane Ewing, his granddaughter Lindsey Berry and Great grandsons, Pierre Two Two and Vaylen Knowshisgun. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, and his four daughters and two sons-in-law. Pierre has numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and his other immediate and extended families, Culbertsons, Red Eagles, Smokers, Eders, Monroes, & the Harris family. Please forgive us if we did not mention others as our family is very large. Dad-grandpa, we love you, miss you, and we will cherish your memories, they will be in our hearts forever. You will be greatly missed by all the family. A wake will be held on Thursday February 3, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Lame Deer, MT. Funeral Service will be held on Friday February 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Lame Deer, MT.
