Pleasant's father was George W. Bowerman. His mother was Sarah E "Sallie" Callaway. After George died, Sarah married James Bright. Pleasant's wife was Elva Jane Skinner. Pleas moved his wife and all his children but the eldest from TN to CA sometime between 1916-1920, but he died of typhoid while on a visit "back home", so is buried in TN with the Bright family.
