She was born in Augusta County on July 22, 1937, a daughter of the late Frank Lyle Stoner and Addie Mae (Mawyer) Stoner Morrison. She was employed as a deli clerk with Kroger. She was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt, as well as a childcare giver to many children in the area. She enjoyed making floral arrangements, wedding cakes and decorating. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen S. Hartsook. Survivors include a son, Jeffrey L. Morrison of Staunton; three daughters and a son-in-law, Joyce F. Harris of Staunton, Doris J. Harman and husband, Jimmy, of Hinton, and Susan G. Brooks of Staunton; two sisters, Peggy (Stoner) Martin and Patsy (Morrison) Hite both of Staunton; six grandchildren, Zack Harris, James Harman, Leslie Puckett, Tracy Morrison, Pam Abshire and Cody Brooks and six great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 in Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Dennis Taylor. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011, at the funeral home and other times at the residence. Active pallbearers will be David Gregory, Elmer Hite, D.W. Shores, Stanley Taylor, Mike Fitzgerald, Dale Fitzgerald, Jimmy Hartsook and George Hartsook. It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to Southern Care Hospice, 2815 North Augusta Street C, Staunton, VA 24401. Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
