Her memorial states Harvard as her place of birth. Nathaniel Burbank was recorded in Harvard on the Census of 1790. The couple had 3 children born there: Daniel Burbank (1792-____), named in honor of Mr. Burbank's father; Nathaniel Burbank Jr (1793-1876), and Samuel Walton Burbank (1795-1868), named in honor of Ruth's father and mother. cit: "Vital Records of Harvard Massachusetts to the year 1850", Births: Burbank: Daniel, Nathaniel and Samuel, pp 20. (ref. pp 177, inventory of the children of Moses Wares and their dates of birth). Both children were most likely born in Worcester county, MA., as only 4 years elapsed between the time of their parent's marriage in Harvard and the Harvard census of August 1800 which listed Moses, one adult female and one male child under 10. That was the last time Polly (Foster) Wares was on the record. She died within 10 months after the date of the census and before the engagement of her husband to Rebecca Allen of Lancaster, his intentions filed June 13, 1801 in Lancaster. cit. "The birth, marriage, and death register, church records, and epitaphs of Lancaster, Massachusetts": 1643-1850, Book First, pp 152 The couple's intentions were also filed June 26, 1801 in Harvard. cit: "Vital Records of Harvard Massachusetts to the year 1850", pub BOSTON, MASS., 1917, pp 134. Polly and Moses lived in Worcester county during their brief marriage. Their daughter Mary was raised by her grandmother, commencing before 1800. She died at age 21 in Lancaster and was buried in the Burbank family plot. She shares the same design headstone as her grandmother and step grandfather, but her monument is larger. The engraved poetic verse states "kindred dear", and was most likely commissioned by Ruth herself, who survived 15 years after her husband and Mary's passing. Her sons Nathaniel and Samuel are also buried in this plot, as well as Samuel's first two wives and first six children ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Moses, a Baptist minister, remarried to Rebecca in Lancaster July 20, 1801. cit.
