Read More	Viborg Enterprise March 30, 1932 Preben Andersen Obituary Preben Andersen was born in Foboig, Denmark on November 17, 1872 and died at his home near Viborg on March 22, 1932 at the age of 59 years, 4 months and 5 days. At the age of six months, his parents decided to come to America and settled in Chicago where they resided until he was ten years old when they decided to move westward in the march of progress of which the immigrants and sturdy pioneers were the forerunners. The farm where Preben Anderson lived was the farm homesteaded by his parents and it was here that he grew to young manhood. He decided on farming as his occupation and on February 8th, 1899, he was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Thompson and settled on a farm southwest of Center Point later moving to Salem township. To this union was born three children all of whom are living. (Sylvia, Carl and Goldie) After a few years of married life, his wife passed away on February 7, 1907 of heart trouble and he was left to care for their three children. Realizing that man needs companionship and that home without a mother is no home he, on December 20, 1909, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Bauer and they made their home on the old homestead of his parents, where they have since resided. To this union ten children were born eight of whom are living and two of whom one, a child of eight and the other an infant, have preceded their father in death. Preben Anderson's chief aim was to surround his family with every loving care and always promote their comfort and welfare, a kind friend and loyal neighbor ever ready to lend a helping hand and to ease the burdens of those less fortunate. He was one of those men of whom it can be said: "Greater than many, second to none." He leaves to mourn his death, his loving wife and eleven children namely, Sylvia (Mrs. John Dangel Jr.), Goldie (Mrs. Melvin Hansen) and Carl, Grace, Carrie, Andrew, Leslie, Genevieve, Francis, Leo and Adeline who reside at home. He also leaves three brothers, namely Charley, Willie and Eddie Anderson of near Freeman and two sisters, Mr. L. A. Christensen of Center Point and Mrs. Chris Anderson of near Viborg, besides a host of relatives, friends and neighbors who extend their sympathy. Funeral services were held at the Idylwilde Catholic Church and interment was made in the cemetery close by Unlisted Children: (Mother Jennie Thompson (1881-1908), married 1889 : Goldie Andersen Hansen (1904-1997)
