Description	:	Prentice Russell, 98, of Colfax died Saturday, July 9, 2005, in the Monarch Wing of Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax. Burial will be at the Colfax Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax, where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Hospice of Jasper County, and online condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com . The son of Ingram and Mary Ann (Turner) Russell, he was born May 12, 1907, in Monticello, Ky. In 1935, he married Gertrude Larsen, and after her death in 1950, Mr. Russell married Helen Ida Thomas in 1951. She died in 1984. Mr. Russell farmed in the Colfax and Reasnor areas until his retirement in 1970. Following his retirement, he worked part time at Vermeer Manufacturing in Pella until 1982. After his retirement, Mr. Russell enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his family. Survivors include his children, Robert Dean (Gail) Russell of Tacoma, Wash., Donald Lee (Carol Ann) Russell of Newton, Edward Keith (Karen) Russell of Colfax and Kathy Ann (Lee) Chamra of Leighton; two step-children, Wayne Lee (Ruth) Adair of Johnston and Walter Ellsworth Adair of St. Louis, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dolly Roark of Virden, Ill., and Amy Young of Monticello, Ky. Preceding him in death were his parents; both wives; a brother, Van Russell; and five sisters, Dessie Bell, Lula Hopkins, Ruby Awtry, Stella West and Reba Young.
