Description	:	It is unsure exactly who his parents were. Allen Warren Johnson is suspected to be the son of William Johnson b. about 1799 & Nancy (unknown maiden name) Johnson b. about 1809. He named his oldest son William Thomas Johnson (which is another clue as it was customary to name the oldest son after the paternal grandfather. William & Nancy had a son Allen W.'s age in census of 1840 but gone by 1850. Allen W. Johnson was listed as living with William Floyd family in 1850 census, age 23. There is no proof either... There is no proof either way so it will remain a mystery until records come forth, only circumstances. See Martygrant.com for more info. A Confederate Soldier, Pvt. Allen Warren Johnson Co. E, 26th SC Infantry, Confederate States Army (formerly 9th Battalion, Smith's Pee Dee Legion) 1861-1865. Enlisting Jan. 1, 1862, he served as a hospital cook during most of the war. He was admitted to Jackson Hospital, Richmond, VA January 11, 1865 & was later sent home January 25, 1865 where he died of disease (diarrhea). He is more than likely buried at Zion Cemetery, exact spot is not known. A VA tombstone for him was placed beside his daughter, Caroline Johnson Edwards in 2012 by their descendants, Keith Edwards & James A. Edwards. Spouse: Celia C. Floyd 1823-1900 (married about 1851/52). Her name appears on the back of her husband's (A.W. Johnson) tombstone. Children: Anna E. Johnson Skipper 1853-1937 (buried at Cool Springs) Caroline Johnson Edwards 1854-1910 (buried at Zion Cem.) William T. Johnson 1856-died after 1920 Ellen Louise Johnson Edwards 1858-1926 (buried at Willow Springs, Conway, SC) John Lafayette Johnson 1859-died before 1870 (burial unknown probably Zion) *note: Caroline married Gabriel Edwards & Ellen married James W. Edwards ( Johnson sisters married Edwards brothers). Pvt. Allen Warren Johnson served in Co. E, 26th SC Infantry, CSA. His muster rolls indicate he enlisted Jan. 1, 1862 in Georgetown, SC at age 35 (originally enlisted in 9th Battalion, SC & later Co E, 26th SC Infantry). He was sent home on sick furlough in January 1865 (where he later died). His exact burial spot is unknown, but very likely at Zion. His sickness was diarrhea as indicated on muster rolls & may have been the cause of death at age about 40. KE
