Sunday afternoon he was buried with military honors in Oak Hill, John Jennings Post No. 39, American Legion escorting the body to its final resting place where taps were sounded over the grave. Rev. J. A. Deedrick gave the funeral address. It was a touching service. Members of Chelsea Legion assisted at the service and as escorts. August Nemechek was a son of Mrs. Hannah Nemechek and he was born at Elly, Lynn county, Iowa, August 12th, 1892. He died at South Hampton, England, August 2, 1918, at the age of 25 years, 11 months and 20 days, death being due to pneumonia. The young man entered the service of his country September 27, 1917, and served with the 133rd Infantry and later with the 4th Calvary of which regiment he was a member at the time of his death. He was buried with military honors overseas to await the time when the body could be returned to his family for burial in its final resting place. He served his country truly as a true soldier and has gone to his final reward. Besides his mother he is survived by three brothers and four sisters, namely James of Fort Dodge, Joseph of Rochester, Minn., Mrs. Alvin Ingalls of Rising Sun, Neb., Mrs. Ed Smith, Mrs. Lester Janes, Mrs. Rose Lawrence and Edward, the last four of this city. -Belle Plaine Union
