Highland Recorder September 28, 1906 On August 13, at the ripe of 78 years, Mr. Ben Ami Curry entered into rest at his home near McDowell, Va. He was a native Highland and spent his long life in the county, and was loved and esteemed for his upright and honest life. He was a man of unimpeachable honor and a quiet humble christian. His death removes from midst another of the old veterans and one of the bravest in the time of conflict. The funeral was he the Presbyterian church. August 15 and the interment was in the grave yard opposite the church. Surviving comrades tenderly bore the casket. Highland Recorder August 17, 1906 Mr Benj. Curry, an aged and respectable citizen, died Monday evening. Funeral service was held in the Presbyterian church by Rev. W.C. Young , and was laid to rest in Oakwood cemetery. 1850 Census of Highland County Edward E.
