| Description | : | Charles Edward Martin was the first-born of Clarence Elmer Martin, Sr. and Edith C. Dillon Martin. He enlisted in the United States Army and served as a Private in the 191st Tank Battalion. On 19 Dec 1944, in a furious battle between tanks in Germany, his tank took a direct hit. Others in the tank escaped, wounded. Charles was never seen again, so was listed as missing in action. His remains were never found.
