Description	:	husband of Eleanore Bernard. Charles W. Bernard Sr, 77 died at Sioux Valley hospital in Sioux Falls. He was a member of the 10th Armored Division, which was instrumental in holding the Germans out of Bagston Beigium. The divison recieved commendation for taking a bridge over the Moselle river near Trier Germany. Charles was shot in his right shoulder later in the war and honorably discharged Nov 19 1945. He worked for Dakota Microfilm,traveling the county photographing records for court houses and businesses until the company moved out of state. The family moved back to Sioux Falls in 1957 and he worked at the stock yards as a yardman and maintenance man, retiring in 1985. Charles enjoyed woodworking, he was a member of Faith temple church. His survivors include his wife Eleanor,sons James of Libby MT, Charles Jr and a daughter, Deborah Garza of Sioux Falls, one brother Walter Bernard Jr of Iowa and two aunts.
