Description	:	The Valley Echo, October 25, 1883 The mangled remains of Daniel Hisey were found a short distance from his home near Metz Crossing on the railroad between New Waterford and Columbiana, early last Thursday morning. The unfortunate man had evidently been struck by a passing train during the night, and probably killed instantly. The HISEY name caught my eye because of a HENDRICKS descendant picture I have includes HEISEY family members. (I have been researching HENDRICKS for many years.) I have never connected the HEISEY family to descendant Honora Juleme "Nora" HENDRICKS SCOTT (1863-1967). I decided to try to find facts about HISEY. Could this be a spelling variation of the two surnames. I noticed that the Daniel HISEY data you submitted to Find A Grave shows his death year as October 17, 1884 – probably due to the very worn tombstone info. I found in the website 1890 Union Veterans Census, Fairfield Twp., Columbiana Co. OH the following: widow of Daniel Hisey, Martha – and cause of death (Disability Remarks) run over by "run over by cars" killed 10/17/1888. Assuming the 1890 Census is correct, I thought you might want to note the change of death year and possibly add other information given http://www.genealogypitstop.com/1890Fairfield.pdf Update 3/30/2014 - above article mentioning the death of Daniel Hisey being "run over by cows" had been changed to "run over by cars" which was a term referring to train cars. Update 10/1/2014 - The article mentioning the "abandoned baby" - That baby was born 1820 and adopted by the Daniel Hisey family. It was by logic the elder Daniel Hisey b 1766 and wife Barbara Unger who adopted child and named her Lydia A Green. Lydia A Green married in 1854 John Koenreich. It appeared to work out as John A Koenrich's first wife was Barbara Hisey who died before 1854 and left children. More to be posted.
