Dever died at his home three miles southeast of Hoisington on Saturday, November 9, 1895, at 9:45 a. m., aged 61 years and 7 months. Mr. Dever has for years been a sufferer with rheumatism and at times was scarcely able to be about. A little over a month ago he was stricken with paralysis and has been hovering between life and death ever since. He has had the best attention that could be given by loving hands and willing hearts, and we feel like making special mention of the care given him by Albert Spencer who was at his bedside almost constantly since he was stricken with paralysis. Mr. Dever was a good christian man and was held in high esteem by all who associated with him. The funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock and were very largely attended. The services were in charge of the G. A. R., the deceased being an old soldier. Rev. Montgomery delivered an excellent sermon, full of practical thoughts to the living. The relatives living at a distance in attendance were: Wm.
