Read More	Lima Soldier Killed 2 Days After Birthday; One Missing One Lima soldier was killed in action in Italy, and another failed to return from a combat mission over Germany, their families were notified during the weekend by the War Department. Pvt. Gene Erwin Bowsher, medical detachment soldier, was killed in action May 13, two days after his 19th birthday, the War department notified his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Bowsher of Berryman-addn. Sgt. Warren W. Duncan, engineer-gunner of a bomber crew, has been missing in action since May 19, according to word received by his wife, of Lima Route 4. Pvt. Bowsher, a former student of Shawnee high school, had been employed at the Superior Coach Corp. before entering the service July 9, 1943. In January he had been assigned overseas, first stationed in North Africa, moving into Italy in April. The only son of Mr. and Mrs. Bowsher, he had written home several times telling of action in his sector. His last letter, dated May 9, arrived home last week. In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Adrian Bowsher of 505 Findlay-rd, Mrs. Leroy Myers and Miss Miriam Bowsher, both at home. No details were included in the message which was relayed by Mrs. Duncan to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Duncan of Bowling Green. Sgt. Duncan has been overseas for three months and was stationed in England. The sergeant was an engineer-gunner in a bomber crew. He entered service in June, 1942. He was a resident of Bowling Green at the time he entered the Army. Sgt. and Mrs. Duncan have one daughter, Jacqueline Lee, 17-months-old. One brother, Maurice, also is overseas with the U.S. Marines. Another brother is Darrell Duncan of Bowling Green, while he has four sisters, Beatrice, Shirley, Patricia and Artis, all at home in Bowling Green.
