Description	:	Longtime Akron postmaster Klauer dead James L. Klauer, 65, a retired postmaster from Akron, died unexpectedly Nov. 11 at. his home after suffering an apparent heart attack. Services were at 10 a.m. Nov. 14 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Akron. The Rev. Stanley R. Stone officiated. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Akron, under the direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home of Akron. Military graveside services were conducted by the Hoschler Legion Post of Akron. Klauer, 65, a retired postmaster from Akron, died unexpectedly Nov. 11 at. his home after suffering an apparent heart attack. Mr. Klauer was born Sept. 11, 1908, in Akron. He married Bernice Johnson on June 6, 1932, at Hawarden. The couple ran a grocery store in the Akron and Hawarden areas until he entered the service in World War II. He was a rural mail carrier and worked for Julius Arkin in Sioux City for several years. He was postmaster in Akron for 22 year until his retirement in July of 1970. Mr. Klauer was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Hawarden and the American Legion Post of Akron. Survivors include the widow; four sons, Dennis of Mount Pleasant, Mich., Michael of Hammond, Ind., Patrick of Seattle, Wash., and Timothy, Hermosa Beach, Calif., five grandchildren, three brothers, Richard of Salinas, Calif., and Phillip and Gene, both of Hollister, Calif., and four sisters, Mrs. P. B. Vance of DeKalb, Ill., Mrs. William Lingley of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Julia and Gerturde Klauer, both of Salinas.
