Mustered Sept. 2, 1862 Keokuk,Ia. Died of disease Nov. 17, 1862. The 36th Iowa was mustered at Keokuk and had not been deployed yet at date of his death. Therefore assume he was buried in Oakland Cemetery, Keokuk, Ia. based on other deaths at Keokuk military hospitals. Soldiers section of Oakland became part of Keokuk National Cemetery. Assume this is where he is buried probably as unknown since many headboards were no longer legible and record keeping poor.
