Burial with military honors by Tipton VFW Post 2537 and Tipton American Legion Post No. 123, will be in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Mr. Sissel died April25 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. The son of William and Daisy Simmons Sissel, he was born July 21, 1923 in Tipton. He graduated from Tipton High School and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and then enlisted in the U. S. Army. He married Helen E. Moeller on June 16, 1946 in Tipton. Mr. Sissel was the parts manager for Davis Farm Equipment for 36 years and then worked as the parts manager for Stueland Auto for 10 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, a past Moose Lodge member, past treasurer and Council member of Trinity church, a member of the "Friday Night Gang" for over 30 years, and a past member of the "Investors Five" Card Club. Mr. Sissel is survived by his wife ; 2 daughters, Carolyn (Mrs. Darle) Elkin, Webster City; and Shelly (Mrs. Steve) Lundberg, Des Moines; a son, Craig (Cheryl) Sissel, Spanoway, Washington; grandchildren, Adam Lundberg, Austin Lundberg, Gina (Brad) Adam, and Matt (Kristina) Sissel; and great-grandchildren, Matt Sissel, Jr.; McKinsey Sissel and Alina Adam. He was preceded in death by his parents and all 10 of his brothers and sisters.
