Davis Succumbs in Richmond Hospital; Moore Released on Bond Quincy Thomas Davis, 50, of Ashland, succumbed In Grace Hospital yesterday morning at 3:45 o'clock to Injuries received Monday afternoon when he was struck by an automobile on the Washington Highway. He suffered severe injuries to the head, body, and legs and attendants held little hope for his recovery from the time of his admittance. W. A. (SI) Moore of Elberton, Ga., a pitcher for the Philadelphia National League baseball club, was the driver of the machine which struck Davis as he walked across the highway to parked car, according to State Motor Vehicle Officer H. T. Gatewood. In the car with Moore was another ball player, E. Clise Dudley. Moore appeared In Henrico County Trial Justice court yesterday morning to answer charges of careless and reckless driving and injuring Davis. The case was continued until November 3, and the defendant was balled tn the sum of $1,000. Davis is survived by his widow Mrs Mabel Brooks Davis; one daughter, Mrs George Robertson; three sons, H. Irving, Quincey Jr, and William; three grandchildren, all of Ashland; also one sister, Mrs Tom Henry Hudgins, and a brother, Israel Davis of New Canton, Va.
