Description	:	R. LaVerne "Buss" Florang, 87, of Kearney, formerly of Riverdale, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at St. John's Good Samaritan Center. Buss was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Kearney to Alfred A. and Hulda M. (Taubenheim) Florang. On Sept. 1, 1944, he married Selma L. Wild in Kansas. Survivors are: wife, Selma L. Florang; daughter, Pam Florang of Lincoln; grandsons, Jesse Florang and his wife, Ashli, of Kearney and Reese Florang of Overland Park, Kan.; and great-granddaughter, Harper Florang of Kearney. Buss grew up north of Riverdale and attended District 55 rural school. He and Selma lived north of Riverdale, where he farmed and worked as a diesel mechanic for Sahling Kenworth in Kearney. Buss retired from Sahling Kenworth in 1995 and from farming in 2004. Buss was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bowling, woodworking, working on cars and welding.
