ANNIE STERLING BURIED Was One of Oldest Crisfield Residents Mrs. Annie Sterling, one of the city's oldest residents, passed away Sunday night at her home on Cove street. Although she had passed her 85th birthday, she had been ill for only about a month. Mrs. Sterling was born in Newark, Worcester County, Md., and was the daughter of the late Sidney and Mary Bradford Trader. When a young woman, she married Severn Sterling, prominent Crisfield waterman, and has resided here for most of her life. She was a member of Immanuel Methodist Church, and very much interested in church work until her advanced age curtailed her activity. In her years here she was a good friend and kind neighbor, and while many of her contemporaries have passed away, she still had a circle of friends who had the utmost esteem and regard for her. Her body rested at the Bradshaw Funeral Parlors until Wednesday, when services were held at her home at 2:30 P.M., with Rev. Melvin E. Wheatley officiating. Interment was in the Crisfield cemetery. Bearers were Belden Sterling, Roland Sterling, William Drummond, James Bradshaw, William Rich and Willie Trader. She is survived by two children, Mrs. Hattie O'Neal, of Claymont, Del. and Mr. Edward Sterling of Crisfield, five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
