Description	:	Death of Mrs. Rachel Caparoon - Mrs. Rachel M. Caparoon of the city was stricken with paralysis last Friday and remained in a comatose state until Sunday morning when she died. Rachel M. Brooks was born in Monroe Co., Iowa, September 8th, 1861, died at her home in Downs, Kansas February 17, 1907 at 7 o'clock am, aged 45 years 5 months and 9 days. Brooks was born in Monroe Co., Iowa, September 8th, 1861, died at her home in Downs, Kansas February 17, 1907 at 7 o'clock am, aged 45 years 5 months and 9 days. Miss Brooks was married to David McKay in Mills Co., Iowa in February 1878. To this union was born five children, three of them died in early life, the others J. F. McKay and Emma E. McKay were with their mother at the time of her death. Mr. McKay died about 1897 and on Nov. 12, 1899, Mrs. McKay was married to Mr. F. E. Caparoon. Besides the children mentioned the deceased leaves to mourn her loss her husband, F. E. Capaproon, her father S. M. Brooks, nine sisters and three brothers. Again, life's brittle thread has been broken and a soul has gone into eternity. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church by the pastor Rev. E. I. Huckell at three o'clock Monday afternoon February 18, 1907, and the remains laid to rest in the Downs Cemetary.
