Died of pneumonia, at her residence in this village. Deceased was born in Columbiana County Ohio, April 27, 1808 and was there for almost eighty-three years old. She married James Sherry in 1832. On last Tuesday at 10 o'clock a.m. Rachel Cattell Sherry, widow of the late James Sherry. Died of pneumonia, at her residence in this village. Deceased was born in Columbiana County Ohio, April 27, 1808 and was there for almost eighty-three years old. She married James Sherry in 1832. They came to Allen County in 1841 and settled near Allentown. In 1856 they moved to this village where they spent their remaining days. To them were born seven children--three sons and four daughters, as follows: Albert, James E, and W.N. and Rebecca, Tabitha, Isabelle, Mary Jane. Of the children only three survive, W.N. of Elida, Rebecca Bowersock of Kansas, and Tabitha Carpenter of Toledo. The father James E. and Albert served in the late war as members of the celebrated 81st O.V.I. James E. jr sleeps at Corinth, Miss. At which place he died at the hospital in 1863. The funeral of the aged mother was held on Wednesday at the U.B. church, of which denomination she was faithful and consistent member for about fifty years. Rev. J.O Kline officiated during the services.
