Description	:	Mrs. Rachel Myers, who had been a resident of Seward county for the past 43 years, died at the home of her son, William B. Myers, northeast of Seward about 2 o'clock Monday afternoon after a lingering illness, having reached the advanced age of 89 years. The deceased was born in Edgar county, Illinois, where she was married to John Myers. In 1869 the family emigrated to Nebraska, settling on a homestead in A precinct, Seward county, where they endured all the privations and hardships of pioneer life. Five years after settling here the husband and father died. The mother is survived by five sons, Levi, Daniel and William of Seward county, J. W. of Fullerton and Henry A. of Cushing, Nebr., and two daughters, Mrs. Ida Shattuck of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Geo. Schenck of Cushing, Nebr. Two brothers, Thomas Darnell of Lincoln and Samuel Darnell of Oklahoma, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Clapp of Tamora and Mrs. Susan Dye of York also survive her. Funeral services over the remains of the deceased were held at the home of her son at 10 o'clock yesterday morning, conducted by Rev. Buswell of the U. B. church, assisted by Rev. Reynolds of the M.
