Stanton and mother of Supervisor Stanton, died suddenly late Friday afternoon. Mrs. Stanton had been in feeble health for some time past but her death was totally unexpected. She was dearly beloved by all and the entire community sympathized with the bereaved family. Mr. J. B. Stanton and mother of Supervisor Stanton, died suddenly late Friday afternoon. Mrs. Stanton had been in feeble health for some time past but her death was totally unexpected. She was dearly beloved by all and the entire community sympathized with the bereaved family. Mr. J. B. Stanton and wife, brother-in-law of the deceased, attended the funeral which was held at Williams Sunday afternoon. A Noble Lady Passes, July 19, 1907 At three o'clock last Saturday morning Mrs. Rachel Stanton passed from this world of care and trouble. She was a native of Tennessee, and aged 70 years. Several years ago, and while her husband H. C. Stanton was alive, she fell into the cellar, the door of which opened into the kitchen and at that time she received inuries owing to adavanced age. She was a pioneer of California and had lived on the form about 40 years. Her husband was Sheriff of Glenn county for two terms, and passed away about four years ago. Mrs. Rachel Stanton was a devoted mother and had reared a family six children. Three boys and three girls, Mrs. Henry St. Louis, Mollie Stanton, Mrs. Florence Cheatham and W. A., H. F. and S. W. Stanton. She was as sister to Mrs. John Van Horn of Germantown. She was a noble and devout Christian lady and a member the Christian Church of Williams. The funeral services were held in that church and the remains were followed to the grave by a large cortege of friends, neighbors and relatives, and she was laid to rest in the family plot in the Masonic Cemetery.
