She was a native of Rutherford County and a daughter of the late Myles and Meldonia McDaniel Wright and retired as a secretary in the office at Laurel Mills with more than forty years service. A faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, Geneva loved her church and community and was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Survivors include her son, Milton Groome of Forest City, two sisters, Margaret Wright Freeman of Augusta, Georgia, Mary Wright of Erwin, Tennessee, a grandson, Austin Groome of Ellenboro, a niece, Gail Connor and her husband Wayne of Augusta, a nephew, Thomas Freeman and his wife Renee of Aiken, SC, a great- niece, Anna Freeman of Aiken, SC and great-nephew, Brian Connor of Augusta, and special friends which were so important to Geneva, Ann Lacy, Judy Allen, and J.T. Doty. Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Friday, June 1, 2012 in the Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend Michael Sepaugh officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from ten until eleven o'clock prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
