Rachael Jane Martin, daughter of James and Ruth (Stephens) Martin, was born in Guthrie county Nov. 6, 1869. In 1891 she married Benjamin Tremain and to this union three children were born; Elizabeth, Nellie and Jonathan. She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1932 and one daughter, Mrs. Harry (Nellie) Salmon who died in 1934. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Elizabeth) Robison of Coon Rapids; a son, Jonathan of California; a brother, J. A. (Jacob) Martin of Bedford; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Frank Pulver of Bayard and Mrs. Mable Kane of California; a stepson, Roy Tremain of Oregon; seven grandchildren, great granddaughter and other relatives and friends. In 1903 Mrs. Tremain became a member of the Coon Rapids Church of Christ and as long as her health permitted she was to be found at her place at each service. Of a retiring nature she took her greatest pleasure in reading, especially reading aloud to her husband. Her Bible was her greatest comfort.
