Read More	Lewiston Morning Tribune - January 9, 1960 Former Deputy Dead at Spokane SPOKANE--Raleigh Quincy Brown, 56, a native of Teakean, Idaho, and a former Clearwater County deputy sheriff, died her Wednesday of a heart attack while undergoing surgery for lung cancer. He had been in ill health for 11 years. Mr. Brown was born July 10, 1903, and lived at the family home at Teakean until 1939, when he moved to Seattle and began work at a shipyard there. He joined the U. S. Navy in 1940 and served in a construction battalion until 1943. His service included duty in Australia and New Guinea. He married Katherine Elizabeth Harvey at San Francisco Feb. 24 1943. The couple lived at Seattle briefly before moving to Orofino, where Mr. Brown became a deputy sheriff, a position he held until the Browns moved here in 1948. Because of ill health, he had been partially retired since coming here. Survivors include his wife; one stepson, Jimmie Harvey of Spokane; his mother, Mrs. Jennie Bert Brown of Orofino; six sisters, Mrs. John Bloom of Orofino, Mrs. Eddie Nurmi of Lewiston, Mrs. Myrtle Powell of Teakean, Mrs. Frank Fountain and Mrs. Tom Goin, both of Port Angeles, Wash., and Mrs. R. J. McWatty of Seattle; one brother, Gifford Brown of Teakean; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at the Hazen & Jaeger Chapel, Spokane.
