Ralph Adrian Beckwith was born Aug 4,1905 at Neligh. His parents were Fred and Irene (Palmer) Beckwith. In 1911 the family moved to a farm near Emmet. In 1927 (Sep 28 in O'Neill) Ralph was married to Myrtle Seger of Atkinson and the couple lived on a farm northeast of Emmet. Their two children were born there. In 1936 the family moved to ONeill where Beckwith was express carrier for the C&NW Railroad for many years. When his wife died in 1977, he made his home with his children until last month when he moved to the Good Samaritan Center. He died Christmas night after a long illness. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs Art (Myrlen ) Harley of Atkinson, a son, Donald and his wife, Deloris of O'Neill; grandchildren, Eugene Beckwith of U S Army in Germany; Janis, Paul, Susan and Ann Beckwith, all of Wagner, SD; Sheryl Mehrhoff of St Louis; Lynn Embley, Steve Harley,Laura Harley, all of Atkinson; Kathy Terry, and Karola Harley, both of Arcadia, SC; Eva Larson of O'Neill and Bobby Dvorak of SD. Also surviving are two brothers, Dean of O'Neill and LaVerne of Boulder, Colorado; three great grandsons, one brother-in-law, seven sister-in-laws. Preceding him in death were his parents,wife, one sister, four brothers, one granddaughter, and one great granddaughter.
