Clara died in 1941. Ralph married (2) Beulah Bell Minnick who was born July 16 1890. Ralph A Haggart Graduated St Paul High School in 1906, he studied law at the University of Nebraska, from which he graduated in 1913. He joined his father in his practice in 1913 & practised law in St Paul from a small office building south of the Howard County Courthouse his father died in 1936. He was elected a county judge in 1915 and served on the bench for 10 years( his starting salary being $1,800 ) he was shown as County Judge in the 1920 Census. Probably the biggest legal star in his 65 yr law career was when he conducted the preliminary hearing for two men who later were convicted of murder and executed. It was about 1929 when Vincent Grammer hired Alson Cole to kill his mother in law, Lulu Vogt, who owned a farm and other property near Elba. Cole was captured and escaped to Wisconsin. The Howard County Sheriff went to Wisconsin to bring him back for Trial. Cole confessed and said he had been hired by Grammar for $500 to kill Mrs Vogt. After preliminary hearing in Ralphs Court, the two men were tried in Howard County District Court, found guilty and condemned to death. In the 1930 census his occupation is given as Lawyer City Attorney, and as we know he later joined with his son Richard to form the Legal firm of "Haggart & Haggart" Ralph died in January 1982 at Saint Paul, Howard County Nebraska. His second wife Beulah died in February 1986 also at St Paul. Jan 2007 family bible of Ralph Archibald Haggart a huge leather covered bible with chromed latches on it owned by Scott Trojan.
