Read More	Pine Bluff Commercial, Friday, November 18, 1938, Page 9: Obit.—Stricken with illness while in the cab of his lumber truck in West Pine Bluff Wednesday night, Ralph Calvin Watson, 24, of Sulphur Springs, died at the hospital here last night about 7:45 o’clock. Mr. Watson was found lying in the cab of his truck by two Negroes Wednesday night and later was moved to the hospital here where it developed that he was suffering of an intestinal trouble which caused his death a short time after he arrived a the hospital. Mr. Watson was well known throughout the Sulphur Springs community and in local lumber circles. He was associated with his father, John H. Watson, in the lumber business at Sulphur Springs. He was a member of the Sulphur Springs Methodist church. Surviving him are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Watson of Sulphur Springs; four brothers, Jack, Jerome, Virginus and Joe, all of Sulphur Springs; five uncles, Ben and Will Watson of Sulphur Springs, Tom Traylor and Jewel Spurlock of Sulphur Springs, and Jack Spurlock of McGehee; four aunts, Miss Mary Watson of New Orleans, Mrs. Homer Petty and Mrs. Justin Newton of Dumas, and Mrs. Alfred McKenzie of Sulphur Springs. Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock Saturday morning from the Sulphur Springs Methodist church, and burial will be in Fitzhugh cemetery in charge of Holderness-South mortuary. Active pallbearers will be his cousins: Thomas, David, Malone, Selby and Wesley Watson and Howard Spurlock. Honorary pallbearers will be: Gus Petty, C. L. McKenzie, Paul Nichols, Leclede Ferguson, Willie West, Everett Taylor, A. M. Morrow, Stuart Petty, Henry Petty and Fred Cherry. Services were held from the Sulphur Springs Methodist church, conducted by the rev. M. O. Barnett of Watson Chapel, and the Rev. W. C. Roebuck of Pine Bluff. Burial was in Fitzhugh cemetery in charge of Holderness-South Mortuary.
