Description	:	Onaga Herald March 21, 1974 Ralph Edward Myers, son of Tilman and Rebecca Francis Myers, passed away Monday, February 25, early in the morning with a heart attack at he age of 80 years, four months. He was the youngest of a family of six boys, all of whom preceded him in death. He was born September 5, 18933 in the America City community and attended school there in his early years, later moving to Holton where he graduated from high school. Read More	Onaga Herald March 21, 1974 Ralph Edward Myers, son of Tilman and Rebecca Francis Myers, passed away Monday, February 25, early in the morning with a heart attack at he age of 80 years, four months. He was the youngest of a family of six boys, all of whom preceded him in death. He was born September 5, 18933 in the America City community and attended school there in his early years, later moving to Holton where he graduated from high school. Soon after he enlisted in the Marine Corps, serving during World War I. Following his military service, he returned to his home community and lived with his brother, Leslie and family until his marriage to Nancy J. Armstrong on June 16, 1920. For the next few years he was engaged in farming in the America City and Havensville communities. In 1929 their home was brightened by the birth of a son, Dean. Mr. Myers was employed by the State Highway Dept. as a maintenance man from 1939 until his retirement in 1959. He served 20 years as a very high ranking employee. In recent years he served on the local township board as trustee. He was a member of Onaga Lodge No. 188, AF&AM, receiving his 50-year pin in 1967. He was a charter member of the Glen G. Nicholas Post No. 333 of the American Legion at Havensville. Survivors include his widow, Nancy; his son, Dean, and wife, Betty; five grandchildren, Cindy, Trudy, Mindy, Jody and Randy; two great-grandchildren, Tracy and Scott Sloop; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Grace Myers and several nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful husband and father, always having a kind word and cheerful smile for anyone he met. Funeral services were held February 27 at the Havensville Christian Church with the Rev. Tim Newton officiating. Burial was in the America City, Cemetery.
