Born in Lowndesville, SC, he was the son of the late Ralph Lackey and Helen Bruce Hardin. He graduated Clemson University with a bachelor's in civil engineering and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was awarded Builder of... Read More	Ralph L. Hardin, Jr. March 8, 1933 - April 22, 2021 U.S. Veteran Anderson, SC Ralph Lackey Hardin, Jr., 88, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021. Born in Lowndesville, SC, he was the son of the late Ralph Lackey and Helen Bruce Hardin. He graduated Clemson University with a bachelor's in civil engineering and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. Hardin owned and operated Ralph L. Hardin Construction Company. He was one of the founding members of the Home Builders Association of Anderson at both the local and state levels. He was awarded Builder of the Year in 1969 and continued to do residential and commercial building for over 40 years. He was a longtime member of St. John's United Methodist Church where he enjoyed his service as Chairman of the Boy Scout Committee and the Chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Gwen Martin Hardin (Anderson); daughter, Kelli Hardin Linebaugh (Anderson); son, Jeff Hardin and wife Marie (Sweden); daughter-in-law, Karen Phillips Hardin (Anderson); sister, Beth Hardin Parker and husband Bob (Anderson); and sister, Linda Hardin Jones and husband Harold (Anderson). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Ashley Hardin Rocci and husband Chris (Chicago); Amanda Hardin Stewart and husband William (Spartanburg); Adam Hardin and wife Mary Alice (Simpsonville); Anna Hardin (Sweden); Martin Hardin and wife Jolene (Switzerland); and Lindy Linebaugh (Columbia). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Dr. Ralph Lackey Hardin III and sister Pam Hardin Wolff. A private graveside service will be held.
