Burial was at Concord Cemetery in Garner with Cataldo Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Ralph Lee Jorgensen, the son of Lars and Laura (Nielsen) Jorgensen, was born June 22, 1928 in Garner. He attended school in Garner and began his own trucking service. March 11, 1950, he married Violet Peck in Garner. The couple has resided in Garner since their marriage. Ralph began working for the Farmers Cooperative Society of Garner in 1950 and continued there until his retirement in 1983. He worked for the next five years at Winnebago in Forest City. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Garner. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and was an avid fisherman. He also was an accomplished woodworker, and spent many hours in his home workshop. He was diagnosed as having leukemia in 1990. He is survived by his wife, Violet of Garner; a son and his wife, James and Karen Jorgensen of Garner; a daughter and her husband, Rhonda and Kurt Leach of Garner; two sisters, Mrs. John (Pearl) Gatchel of Garner and Mrs. Gene (Rosemary) Tannahill of Fertile; and two grandchildren, Travis and Kellie. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Richard Lee; and two sisters, Dagny and Daisy Jorgensen.
