Edmund McCormick, assistant to the pastor, in the Parish House of St. Mary's church, High st at Chestnut Hill, in the evening at six-thirty o'clock. Mrs. Charles V. Hammack, a sister of the bride was her only attendant. Mr. Hammack served Mr. Maccracken as best man. One of the loveliest of the early winter brides, Miss O'Gara chose for her bridal frock, a smart model in powder blue wool, with which she wore black accessories and a short skunk jacket. Gardenias fashioned her corsage. Mrs. Hammack was in a smart fur-trimmed ensemble of wine wool, with matching accessories. Her flowers were gardenias. Following the ceremony, Mr. Joseph S. O'Gara was host at a wedding dinner at The Georgian, with the guest list limited to members of the immediate families. The new Mrs. Maccracken is the daughter of Joseph S. O'Gara, 305 East Walnut st. and the late Mrs. O'Gara. Mr. Maccracken is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ransom Maccracken, 215 Mulberry Hill. He is a former student of Kenyon College, Gambier, Ohio, and a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. His business association is with the office department of the Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation. In the later evening, Mr. and Mrs. Maccracken were off on a motor trip, with travel plans not disclosed. Upon their return they will establish their residence at 403 East Chestnut-st. _________________________________________________ OBITUARY Lancaster Eagle Gazette, Lancaster, Ohio, Saturday, 12 Apr 2014 ASHEVILLE, NC: Ralph Ransom Maccracken, Jr., 93, of Asheville, North Carolina died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the Charles George VA Medical Center. A native of Lancaster, Ohio, he was the son of the late Ralph R. and Harriet Maccracken. He attended Lancaster High School and Kenyon College. He was preceded in death by by his wife of 67 years, Julia (O'Gara) Maccracken; and his grandson, Mark Maccracken. Mr. Maccracken was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II and Korea. He worked as a professional fundraiser. Mr. Maccracken is survived by his eight children, Ann Baxter (Kenneth Donnellon) of Ashwville, North Carolina, James Maccracken of Lancaster, Ohio, Joseph Maccracken (Martha) of Kansas City, Missouri, Molly Maccracken (Lauren Creighton) of Columbus, Ohio, Harriett Maccracken (Ed Stump) of Tempe, Arizona, Nancy Brooks-Seibert (Bruce) of Midland, Michigan, Joan Carpenter (Jim) of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Samuel Maccracken of St. Louis, Missouri; 14 grandchildren, Christopher, John (Amanda) and Sarah Maccracken, Kathryn Coff (Tim),Leslie Maccracken, Simon, Molly, Nicholas Stump, Jessie Jones (Aaron), Brian Siebert (Stephanie), Lindsey Seibert, Lily, Sam and David Carpenter, and Riley and Casey Maccracken; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Marion Veium of Spokane, Washington. A graveside service will be held at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery in Lancaster, Ohio. Memorials may be made to Hospice at the VA Medical Center, 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, North Carolina 28805. Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting the family.
