Description	:	Ralph Thayer Friend died at the age of 21. He went hunting on a cold winter's day. He shot some ducks and they fell into the river. Ralph fell into the river when he retrieved the birds. He caught pneumonia and died the day before Christmas. The following note concerning this incident remains - R. E. Ralph Taft Friend was the son of Adelia Alice (Friend) Friend, a sister to Hattie Mae (Friend) Casteel and Ralph Thayer Friend. Adelia named her son Ralph to honor of her brother Ralph Thayer. The R.E. Friend noted above is Reese Edward Friend and the D.A. Friend is David Adolphus Friend, brothers of Ralph Thayer, Hattie May, and Adelia.
