Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Born October 19, 1890, in Northwood, Iowa, Mr Whitcome was the son of Mr and Mrs George Whitcome. He came to North Dakota in 1907, and began employment with the Northern Pacific Railway as a telegrapher in 1910 at Crystal Springs, working at various stations. He was a telegrapher at Jamestown for a time and later a dispatcher and then a ticket agent here for many years. He was a telegrapher and agent at Eldridge from 1944 to 1966, retiring in September, 1966, when he moved to Jamestown to reside. His marriage to Katherine Flach took place February 12, 1934, in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Mr Whitcome was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational and the Order of Railway Telegraphers. He is survived by his wife; a daughter by a previous marriage, Mrs Lorraine Reed, Phoenix, Arizona; two grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs Robert Holmes, Mission City, British Columbia, Canada.
