Description	:	Ralph Burg, 77, of St. Anthony, died Thursday morning, August 16, 2007, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with cremation rites to follow. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Ralph and his family. Ph. 641-844-1234. Born on January 8, 1930, at home in Collins, Iowa, he was the son of Frank and Anna Rothmeyer Burg. He graduated from St. Anthony High School. He served our country honorably in the United States Army from March 1951 to December 1952. Ralph was married to Lola Nordstrom and they had three children - Sharon Lepsick, Rachelle 'Shelly' Kerchner and Michael Burg. In June 1978, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Marshalltown, he was married to Dixie Gummert, and they made their home in St. Anthony. Ralph was employed at Marshalltown Instruments until closing, and Mackin Grain in St. Anthony. He was a member of the American Legion. He had been mayor and council member of St. Anthony. Ralph enjoyed hunting and fishing, being outdoors, cutting wood, mowing grass, and will fondly be remembered for his willingness to always help others. Left to mourn his loss are his loving wife, Dixie, his children: Shelly (Doug) Kerchner of Loveland, Ohio, Sharon (Dave) Lepsic of Hain City, Florida, Mick (Shelly) Burg of St. Anthony, Becky (Don) Fuller of Maxwell, Iowa and Warren (Wendy) Gummert of LeGrand; 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, his sister, Lillian Knutson of Ames, and several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends. In death he has rejoined his parents, his brothers: Wayne, Virgil, John and Charles; and his sisters, Elizabeth and Deloris.∼* IN LOVING MEMORY OF * Ralph Burg was born on Wednesday; January 8, 1930 at home in Collins, Iowa. Ralph was the son of Frank and Anna (Rothmeyer) Burg. He graduated from Saint Anthony High School in Saint Anthony; Marshall County, Iowa. Sharon & her husband: Dave Lepsic of Haines City; Polk County, Florida. Mick & his wife: Shelly Burg of Saint Anthony, Iowa. Becky & her husband: Don Fuller of Maxwell; Story County, Iowa and Warren & his wife: Wendy Gummert of LeGrand; Marshall County, Iowa. Thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His sister: Lillian Knutson of Ames, Iowa and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death he has rejoined his parents, his brothers: Wayne, Virgil, John and Charles.
