Bell, 34 year old farmer of the Cokesbury section, died shortly after being admitted in the Peninsula General Hospital in Salisbury Monday night following a two car crash on Route 406 (Peach Orchard Road). The accident occurred on the sweeping turn near the section known as Kingstown. Mr. Bell was riding in a car operated by Albert Cusick of Princess Anne when the car collided with a car driven by Dorothy E. Matthews, of Pocomoke. According to Maryland State Police the accident occurred when the Matthews car attempted to make a left hand turn off the highway into a dirt road in the face of the oncoming Cusick car. Mr. Cusick is a patient at the Salisbury hospital suffering from chest injuries and a dislocated hip. The Matthews woman and her four year old child are also patients at the hospital suffering with a fractured arm and fractures of both legs respectively. The news of the accident and Mr. Bell's death was a great shock to the many friends he had in the Rehobeth, Kingston and Marion sections. Known as one of the nicest and most industrious of the young men in that section, he was held in the highest regard by those of all ages. The large attendance at the funeral services and the many floral offerings were added proof of the great regard in which he was held by those that knew and worked with him. Funeral services were held Thursday at the Rehobeth Methodist Church at 2:30 P.M. with the Rev. Walter K. Mahan officiating with the Rev. Milton Kay assisting. Burial was in the Church Cemetery. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Emely E. Bell, two daughters, Mary Lou and Rosalie, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney C. Bell of Rehobeth, five brothers and two sisters.
