Description	:	Ramona Zoe Percy, 85, of rural Douglas County, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2013 at her home. She was born July 17, 1928 in Home, KS, the daughter of James C. and Velma K. Barlow Riepen. Ramona graduated from Topeka High School in 1946 and attended Washburn University where she played the cornet in the band. She was employed by the Santa Fe Employee Benefits Association for 21 years before retiring. Read More	Ramona Zoe Percy, 85, of rural Douglas County, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2013 at her home. She was born July 17, 1928 in Home, KS, the daughter of James C. and Velma K. Barlow Riepen. Ramona graduated from Topeka High School in 1946 and attended Washburn University where she played the cornet in the band. She was employed by the Santa Fe Employee Benefits Association for 21 years before retiring. She was a member of the Shawnee Heights Christian Church and had recently been attending the Stull United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star for 25 years. Ramona married Eugene Percy on May 9, 1947 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jerry J. and Garman J. Riepen. Survivors include their children, Ianthe (Pat) Wozniak of Garden City, MO, Rebecca (Michael) Jones of Lawrence, KS, Melissa (Stan) Drumm of Spokane, WA, Patricia (George) Ferguson of Kansas City, KS, Renetta Jean (Brad) Dawson of Hays, 7 grandchildren, Jami Van Hercke, Andy Wozniak, Brian Wozniak, Meranda Martinez, Peggy Griffeth, Annie Young and Jack Kasselman, 17 great-grandchildren and her sister, Shirley J. Edmonds of Berryton and her sister-in-law, Sylvia Riepen of Lyndon, KS. She is also survived by her large extended family including her niece and nephew, Jane and Robin Edmonds. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Stull United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Iola at 1:00 p.m. Saturday. Memorial contributions may be given to the Washburn University Music Department c/o the Washburn University Foundation, 1729 SW MacVicar St., Topeka, KS 66604.
