He passed away at the Warren Memorial hospital in Friend, Jun 9, 1982, at the age of 81 years, five months and 29 days, after a lingering illness.He grew up on farms in this area and attended country school, District 97 and 98 in York County. He farmed for many years retiring in 1968, and moved to Exeter several years later where he enjoyed working in his yard and garden.He attended Sunday school and church at Pleasant Ridge Church north of Exeter and in 1921, became a member of the Exeter United Methodist Church which he attended regularlly.In 1924 he was united in marrige to Leona Zwieg of Exeter. Three children were born to this Union.: Darleene (Mrs. Jerome Becker) and Daryl, both of Exeter, and Donna (Mrs. Rex Baller) of Oakland, IA.Left to cherish his memory are his wife, his three childrenm one daughter in law, two sons in law, 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, also his two sisterd (Mrs. Hazel Thompsen of Exeter and Mrs. Ina Mullner and husband William of York), nieces, nephews and many friends.Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers (Earl and Floyd Taylor) and granddaughter, Lynn Marie Taylor.Funeral Services were held June 11 1982, at the Exeter, at the Exeter United Methodist church with the Rev CharlesD. Mitchell officiating.Pallbearers were Ted Jorgensen, Donald Dumpert, Stanley Rhodes, Gerald Becker, and Louis Michl.
