Description	:	First Lieutenant Ray Perry Tucker, a native of Tipton, was killed Sunday when an Air Force F-94 jet plane in which he was flying crashed into a dike along the Kaw river, near Fairfax Field at Kansas City, Kansas. A veteran of World War II, Tucker returned to service as an Air Force radar operator in July, 1950. At the time of the tragedy he was stationed at Eglin Air Force base in Florida. A veteran of World War II, Tucker returned to service as an Air Force radar operator in July, 1950. At the time of the tragedy he was stationed at Eglin Air Force base in Florida. During World War II, Tucker served with a Night Fighter squadron in the China-Burma-India Theater of Operations. After his marriage and return to Tipton, where he made his home until he was recalled to active duty, Tucker was employed as a cabinet maker. Born in Tipton Tipton Dec. 16, 1921, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Tucker. They are the parents of four other children. Mrs. Tucker currently resides at 132 1/2 West North street. The deceased lived in Tipton until World War II begun. He entered the Air Force and was stationed at several bases in the United States before going overseas from Bakersfield, Calif. He was trained as a radar operator and resumed that capacity when he returned to duty following the opening of the Korean conflict. Living in Florida, in May, 1945, he married Jane Ann Bonnet, of Madison, Wisconsin. They lived in Tipton most of the time following their marriage until Tucker's re-entry into service. She was living at Eglin Air Base with their two children when the air accident occurred. The Air Force veteran attended school in Tipton and was a member of the West Street Christian church, the American Legion and formerly belonged to the Elks lodge. Surviving along with the parents and the widow are the two children, Jimmy, 7, and Kathy, 6. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Irvin Coins, of Elwood, and Mrs. William Rice, 432 Green street; two brothers, Lex Tucker, of 236 First street and Vern Tucker, who currently is stationed at Columbus Air Force base in Mississippi, and several nephews.
