Circumstances surrounding the suicide indicate that Mr. Flint was not in his normal mind at the time of the act, according to Chief Tovee. Mr. Flint, who has been employed at Max's Café from time to time, had been unable to work since last week. He had complained of rheumatism and other ailments, even declaring that he intended to take a trip for treatment. He left no insurance policies and was not a member of any fraternal organization so far as can be learned. At one time he was affiliated with the Knights of Pythias in Yuba City. He had lived in Chico for the past ten years. A large part of that time he was in business in barious light lunch and refreshment establishments. Operated Stand – At one time he operated a soft drink stand at Fifth and Main streets. He was associated with Tom King at the Second street soft drink stand for a time. Besides the widow, Mrs. Alma Flint, he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Marion Adams of Palo Alto and Mrs. Clay Carpenter of Long Beach. Mrs. Flint said yesteray that she intended to have the shotgun, owned by Ralph Baker, taken from the house because of her husband's evident despondency. She had taken the precautino to remove and hide the shells, she said. Where Mr. Flint found the shell he used to end his life has not been determined. Dr. E.E. Baumeister, who examined the body yesterday afternoon, declared that powder burns appear on the tongue. A whole section of skull was blown from the head. An inquest will be held at 1 o'clock today at the Westfall Funeral Home. ~~~ 41-year-old Ray B. Flint was interred, per the Chico Cemetery Association Records, in the plot noted, on February 4, 1927 (basis of birth date).
