Description	:	"Raymond Earl Wedergren was born to Earl Irving and Mildred (Erickson) Wedergren on November 6, 1927 in rural Burt County near Craig, Nebraska. He passed away May 21, 2015 at the Fremont Health Medical Center, after succumbing to cancer that led to heart failure at the age of 87 years. When Raymond was a young child, he moved with his family to rural Dodge County near Uehling, Nebraska where he attended Uehling Public School District #49 for 12 years until graduating in 1945. Read More	"Raymond Earl Wedergren was born to Earl Irving and Mildred (Erickson) Wedergren on November 6, 1927 in rural Burt County near Craig, Nebraska. He passed away May 21, 2015 at the Fremont Health Medical Center, after succumbing to cancer that led to heart failure at the age of 87 years. When Raymond was a young child, he moved with his family to rural Dodge County near Uehling, Nebraska where he attended Uehling Public School District #49 for 12 years until graduating in 1945. He farmed with his father until April 13, 1951 when he entered the Army to serve in the Korean War. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the Bronze Service Star, and the United Nations Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in January 1953 and returned to farming. On July 23, 1961, he married Gloria June Paris in Fremont, Nebraska. They lived all of their lives on a farm 2 miles south of Uehling. He was active in many community organizations: Uehling Congregational Church, Uehling Lions Club, L. Noble Lund American Legion Post 196 of Uehling, Oakland VFW, and Uehling Volunteer Fire Department. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Helen Lorraine Landholm, Patricia Ann Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Gloria; son and daughter-in-law, Cory and June Wedergren; granddaughter, Ella Kate Wedergren; grandson, Evan Ray Wedergren; many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, May 27, 2015, 10:30 a.m. at the Uehling Auditorium in Uehling, Nebraska. VISITATION: Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Services Oakland in Oakland, Nebraska. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the Uehling Auditorium. BURIAL WITH MILITARY HONORS: Swaburg Baptist Cemetery, Rural Hooper, Nebraska. MEMORIALS: To the family, for designation at a later time." Pelan Funeral Services, Oakland, Nebraska.
