Read More	Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, Colorado, March 31, 2005 Raymond Gerald Korte was born March 21, 1931 to George and Gladys Owens Korte at the family farm east of Holyoke. He died Wednesday, March 23, 2005. He attended Morning Star School east of Holyoke starting with the first grade through the eighth grade. He attended Phillips County High School, graduating in 1949. While in high school he was active in FFA and was a member of National Honor Society. After graduation, he worked on road and bridge construction through the winter months from Colorado to California. During the summer months he worked with his father on the family farm until after the wheat was planted in the fall. From 1959 through 1961 he was active in construction of missile bases at Deertrail. On October 1, 1961 he was united in marriage to Clarice Elaine Briggs. To this union two children were born, Gary Ray on August 31, 1962 and Sharon Elaine on December 28, 1969. Raymond was baptized in the Baptist Church, served as a deacon and was active in the men's fellowship for many years. He thoroughly enjoyed playing cards and was a charter member of Club 25. He also enjoyed playing cards at Pleasant Valley. He bowled on the mixed doubles league for many years until his health failed. Raymond was blessed with six grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with them, teaching them to play all kinds of card games and taking them to the field to ride the tractors and to ride the combines during harvest. He was preceded in death by his father George Korte and his mother Gladys Owens Korte. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Clarice; son Gary; daughter Sharon and husband Forest McWilliams, Jr.; sisters Lou Eva Patterson and husband Jim and Shirley Lee of Florence, Alabama; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 28 at the First Baptist Church in Holyoke with Rev. Gary Jones officiating. Interment followed at Holyoke Memorial Park.
