Raymond John Feldpausch was born March 31, 1931 in DeWitt, to John Charles and Marguerite (Martin) Feldpausch. He served in the Navy during the Korean era. Ray married Martha Josephine Dowty, August 20, 1955 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Clinton. The couple resided in DeWitt, where they raised their family. Ray worked at Alcoa Riverdale as a machinist and retired in 1995 following 41 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and was an avid gardener, Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals fan. While working at Alcoa, he was very active in Steel Workers Union #105. While residing at Westwing Place, Ray was crowned king in 2006. Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Jane Feldpausch and Patrick and Denise Feldpausch, DeWitt; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Brian Frick, DeWitt and Lynn and David Mink, Camanche; grandchildren, Lucas Feldpausch, Kyle Mink, Jeremy Feldpausch, Madison Frick, Cameron Frick, Trevor Mink, Garret Frick, Preston Frick and Noelle Feldpausch; two brothers, Joe Feldpausch, Maquoketa, Iowa and Tom Feldpausch, York, Pennsylvania; a sister, Dorothy Paarmann, DeWitt. Preceding Ray in death were his wife Martha on May 15, 2005, his parents, a brother Donald and an infant sister Alice. The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2007 with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2007 in the Church with the Rev. Fr. H. Robert Harness officiating. Interment in the Church Cemetery. Eugene McManus American Legion Post #238, DeWitt, will conduct military rites. (Source: Schultz Funeral Home)
