At his request, no services are planned. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Creel Funeral Home of Lewistown. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Creel Funeral Home of Lewistown. Ray was born in Stockett, Mont., on Nov. 24, 1914, to Joseph and Mary (Schenk) Zigan. He was the youngest and last surviving of five children. The family moved to Whitehall when Ray was 2 and then to Great Falls when he was 6. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School. When he was in the sixth grade the family moved to Sacramento, Calif., but returned to Great Falls where he spent his high school years and graduated from Great Falls High School in 1934. He worked at several places, including Fort Peck Dam, the Smelter and Great Falls Tribune before to going to work in the parts department of General Motors. He retired from G. M. in 1972, but went to work for the Great Falls School district and retired in 1981 after eight years. Ray married Mary Ann Cislo on Jan. 1, 1938. They had five children: Joe (Joey) of Lincoln, Mont., Rayleen (Jerry) Ouellett of Great Falls, Tom (Connie) of Kennewick, Wash., and Al (Cathye) of Great Falls. Another son, Frank, died in 2003. His wife Mary passed away May 6, 1980. He married Mary Frances Pryor on April 20, 1991; she preceded him in death on April 6, 2009. His stepchildren are Ray (Jackie) Pryor of Lewistown, Mont., Ron of West Wenatchee, Wash., and Lynette (Leo) Lopez of Agoura Hills, Calif. Ray was a member of St. Ann's and St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and fraternal organizations the Eagles, Elks and Moose. As senior citizens, he and Mary Frances enjoyed many activities. When they lived in Great Falls they attended nearly every Great Falls Dodgers/Voyagers game. They bowled on a mixed league and Ray bowled on the G.F. Bowling Association Honors Team for several years. The team was comprised of five bowlers ranging in age from 85 to 93. He and Mary Frances were local favorites on the dancing scene. They danced every night of the week that they possibly could and were featured many times in the Great Falls Tribune dressed in costume for the local annual Jazz Festival. They also traveled to jazz festivals throughout the Northwest. They loved Branson, Mo., and traveled there many times to enjoy the dancing and entertainment. Ray also is survived by 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A special thanks to Ray and Jackie Pryor who have been such an important part of Ray's family since his move to Lewistown in 2005. It would be impossible to list all that they have done for Ray and his family. And a special thanks to Susie Kurzawa, his friend and caregiver.
