He is survived by the widow and by a son, Raymond, in Sacramento; by two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Hagan, 2912 Second Avenue North, and Mrs. R.V. Walters, 1004 Tenth Avenue North, and by a son, E. H. Zigan, 1004 Tenth Avenue North, of this city; by his father, Joseph Zigan, at Missoula, and by five grandchildren. There are three brothers and five sisters surviving. One sister, Mrs. John Younek lives in this city and another, Mrs. John Goldhahn resides in Geraldine. Obituary from the Great Falls Tribune +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Joesph Zigan, Former Resident, Passes Away Joseph Zigan, a former resident of Browerville and Long Prairie, died April 6 at a hospital in Sacramento, Calif., according to word received here by E. A. Schenk, a brother-in-law of the former Long Prairie business man. Mr. Zigan had been ill for three months at his home in Sacramento, and shortly before his death had undergone an operation at the hospital, his death following within a few days. His illness was due to stomach ulcers. Funeral services were held from the Cathedral in Sacramento on Wednesday morning, April 8, Rev. Father C. O. O'Connor officiating, interment following in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Zigan will be well remembered in Long Prairie, where he at one time was engaged in the mercantile business in partnership with R. L. Ostrander, their store having been located in the room now serving as quarters for the government post office. The firm retired from business about 25 years ago, after which time Mr. Zigan went to Montana, residing in Great Falls and elsewhere in that state for a number of years while engaged in business. Later he went to California locating at Sacramento where Mrs. Zigan and one son, Raymond, now reside. Mrs. Zigan before her marriage was Miss Mary Schenk, sister of Edward A. Schenk, of this village. Other surviving children are Mrs. Leonida Hagan, Mrs. Mildred Walters and Edmund Zigan, all residing at Great Falls. One other son, Clarence, died at Sacramento several years ago.
