He was born on Aug. 28, 1931, to Elva E. and Roy H. Park in Victor, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and an older brother, Richard, who passed just seven days before. He was born on Aug. 28, 1931, to Elva E. and Roy H. Park in Victor, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and an older brother, Richard, who passed just seven days before. He is survived by a sister, Janice Park Koch, Rowlett, Texas, and a beloved friend, Joni Lindstrom, Tallahassee, Florida. He graduated from Victor High School and Cornell College, Mt. Vernon Iowa, before teaching instrumental music in Clarence, Iowa. When drafted into the army, he served as an MP doing clerical work. Raymond then attended the Univ. of Michigan, Ann Arbor where he earned both a Master’s degree in Music History and Literature and a PhD in Musicology and was nominated to Phi Kappa Phi. He began and ended (1964-1996) his college teaching career at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, teaching piano, Introduction to Graduate Study, American Music, etc., served as secretary of Pi Kappa Lambda and worked at cataloging the Essig Collection. He had maintained an extensive music bibliography and continued to enjoy playing the piano and raising orchids and other plants until his death. There will be a graveside service and burial in the Victor, Iowa Memorial Cemetery.
